Private family services for Roberta Ann Lucas, 84, of Indianola, who passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020, will be held at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Friends may join the family on Roberta's obituary page of Overton Funeral Home's website for the Livestream beginning at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2020.  Burial will follow services in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Roberta was born in Carl, Iowa on Sunday, September 15th, 1935 to Pat and Gladys (Ramsey) Bennett, and was the first of two daughters.  She went to country school for the first few years, and when she was 9, the family moved to Clearfield where she later graduated from High School. While in high school, she was a member of the rope jumping team that entertained during ball games.

Roberta moved to Omaha and lived on a farm in Nebraska before returning to southwest Iowa.  She wanted to be a mother, and was blessed with Bradley in 1960, and Jami in 1965.  In 1973 she moved her family to Indianola where she worked for Warren County Abstract, and later as Deputy Recorder for the Warren County Records Office until her retirement.  After retirement she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Roberta was a beautiful pianist, playing for her church for over 40 years. She also touched many young lives as a Sunday School teacher, where she taught the importance of having a close relationship with God.

Survivors include her daughter, Jami Fridley; grandchildren, Wade (Amber) Fridley, Jenna (Matthew) Mitchell, and Whitney (Zach) Ramer; great-grandchildren, Sophi, Tayton, Maely, Milly, Hailee, Dominic, Raegan, Waylon, Sawyer, Emily, Echo, Matthew, Landon and Isley; and sister, Garnett (Bob) Campbell.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Gladys (Ramsey) Bennett; and her son, Bradley Wallick.

Public visitation, using CDC guidelines, will be held 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Overton Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 8 p.m.  Memorials may be given, in Roberta's name, to Kiya Koda Humane Society or EveryStep Hospice.
