Robert Leonard Williams, 88, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Des Moines, Iowa.  His wish was to have his body donated to Des Moines University.  An inurnment of his cremains will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2024, with military rites, in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, Iowa.

Robert was born on June 14, 1932 to George and Beatrice (Douglas) Williams in Des Moines, IA.  He graduated in 1951 from Carlisle High School. He served in the United States Army and was Honorably discharged in 1957. He loved the Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes and Nascar.

Survivors include his sister, Marie Bartholmew; step-children, step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Johnson Williams and son, Robert James Williams.
