Robert was born and lived all his life in Summerset. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1959 and worked as a glove cutter for Champion Glove Company in Des Moines for 30 years, retiring in 1991.

Surviving are his brothers, Ray of Summerset, Bill of rural Carlisle, Dick of Van Meter and Frank of Prairie City; sister, Linda Nelson of Hot Springs, S.D.; companion, Shirley Bentley of Summerset; step-son, Stan Wright of Corwith; and step-daughters, Betty Tindall of Corwith and Lynn Wilson of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and brother, Don.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m., Monday, January 16 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family in his name.
