Graveside services for Robert Dean McCauley, 87, of Indianola, Iowa, who passed away Thursday, September, 18, 2025, will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Belmont Cemetery, Milo, Iowa.
Robert Dean McCauley was born June 19, 1938 in Clarke County, Iowa to Virgil and Mildred McCauley. Robert was a true Ford Automotive man, but he also enjoyed "Old Blue" his trusty Ford Tractor.
Robert accepted the Lord as a teenager and was always quick to give testimony of his faith including teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and working at Jericho Hills Church Camp in Lucas, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Haltom on August 22, 1959 at Norwood E.U.B. Church. To this union three children were born, Victor, Vonna and Verna. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Milo area for many years, then moving to Indianola and retiring there. Robert worked at Armstrong Tire Company retiring after 36 years, then worked 10 years for Rebuilders Parts Warehouse. After retirement he and Dorothy enjoyed wintering in Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Virgil and Mildred McCauley; daughter, Vonna Brown and brothers Larry and Ron McCauley. He is survived by his children, Victor (Vicky) McCauley and Verna McCauley; son-in-law, John Brown; grandchildren, Sarah (Sean) Hick, Cory (Megan) McCauley, Aubry (Brad) Baldwin, Amanda (Erik) Montelongo, Crystal (Britt) Herrington and Andrew (Rachel) Bishop; great-grandchildren, Levi, Hayley, Kinsey Hick, Clare, Owen and Madelyn McCauley, Gryffin and Margot Montelongo; sisters, Marilyn Fletchall and Carolyn Verde as-well-as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2025 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Robert may be given to the Milo Christian Union Church.
