Robert Lee Kreidler was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Canton, IL to Lee and Mildred (Seidell) Kreidler of Ellisville, IL. He graduated from New London High School in New London, IA, in 1948. On June 17, 1950, he married the "love and luck" of his life, Joan Halfhill of Chariton, IA. In 1953 Bob and Joan moved to Hartford, IA, and in 1961 moved to their home near Palmyra, IA. He worked 29 years for John Deere, retiring as a tool grinder in 1987.
Bob loved the outdoors and his hobbies included hunting, fishing, mushrooming, gardening, and tending his martin houses. Bob and Joan were members of the Iowa Early Wheels Club and Central Iowa Model A Club.
Bob is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Joan, of Carlisle; three children, Michele Kreidler (Robert Lochmiller) of Indianola, Angela Matthews (Jim) of Galesburg, IL, and Robert C. Kreidler of Indianola; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Taylor of Machesney Park, IL; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Speck. He was preceded in death by his parents.
