IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
Keith Pohlman
September 26, 1949 – November 14, 2024

Robert "Bob" Pohlman was born on September 26, 1949 in Des Moines, IA and passed away on November 14, 2024 at home in Monroe after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Bob met Kathy, his wife, in 1993 and were married in September of 1994. Bob graduated from Grinnell High School in 1969. After High School, he attended Marshalltown Community College, then joined the Army National Guard, graduating from the 7th Battalion Second Basic Combat Training Brigade, Ft, Jackson, SC on April 8, 1971 and continue the guard for 7 years as military police.
Bob drove dump truck for several years out of Colfax, IA and had always wanted to own his own semi-truck and drive over the road, so Kathy quit her job and they bought a semi driving as a team for 7 years. They managed to drive through all states except for 3. When they decided it was time to get off the road, Bob started driving flatbed for 2 different companies, then his last years of driving was a tanker until April of 2021.
Bob was affiliated with the Community United Presbyterian Church in Hartford where he had served as an elder. Bob loved to "tinker". He loved hunting, fishing, camping and traveling, with the favorite place to Hawaii.
Most of all, Bob loved his family. His kids and grandkids were the light in his heart and eyes. He loved watching his grandkids in their sports and rarely missed an event.
Bob also went to Auctioneer School and the grandkids loved how he could rattle that vocabulary so fast.
Bob is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy; his sons, John Pohlman of Grimes; Darin (Crystal) Drake of Monroe, Daric Drake of Norwalk, Danel (Sara) Drake of Prairie City; grandchildren, Taylor Drake (Stephen), Darian Drake, Payton Drake, Leah Drake, Darica Yates (Eric), Hunter Drake, Caden Drake, Lark Drake, Danson Drake, Daegun Drake, Tucker Pohlman, Austin Bucknell (Shianne),
Justin Bucknell, Kylee Bucknell, Jayden Bucknell; great-grandchildren, Landon LaVallee, Zoe LaVallee, Aubri LaVallee, Presslee Yates, Lachlan Drake, Gabe Bucknell, Raelynn Bucknell, Chloe Bucknell; father, Lyle Pohlman of Waukee; sisters, Susi Davis of Waukee and Sheri Pohlman of Marion; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Pohlman; nephew, Ryan Davis; Pohlman grandparents and Stayner grandparents.
Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 17 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Bob to the family for a contribution at a later date.
