Services for Robert Duane Hart, 81, who passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017, will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 2 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. A Graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, in the Highpoint Cemetery, Garden Grove, IA.

Robert served in the Iowa Army National Guard and in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division from 1958 to 1960. He was united in marriage to Glaydes Irene Bright on September 21, 1957 and they farmed in Iowa until 1985 when Robert started working around Indianola in the construction industry. Robert enjoyed traveling and loved his family, especially playing with his grand, great-grand and great-great-grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Glaydes Hart of Indianola; daughters, Judi (Kevin) Miller of Seligman, MO, Joyce Hart of Altoona, and Janice (Tom) Jedlicka of Marion; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; siblings, John (Betty) Hart of Gettysburg, PA, Ralph (Joyce) Hart of Omaha, NE and Evelyn (Larry) Bowers of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Velma (Bohn) Hart; four brothers, infant brother James, Danny, Eugene and Grady; and stillborn sister, Ruth Ann.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 1 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family in his name.
