Bob Fromm passed from our lives on the evening of November 23, 2010 in the company of his wife Margaret Edel (Fish) Fromm, surrounded by family, close friends and beloved care takers. He lived a full and passionate life- born July 18, 1925, in Thief River Falls, MN. He was very proud to have served in WWII with the United States Navy aboard the USS Fuller (APA 7) in the Pacific theater. He married his beautiful bride, Edel, and they made a family of four sons Bobby, Dick, Jim and Chuck. As their sons grew into strong men, Bob also grew his own business as a truck driver, continuously looking for ways to improve the efficiency of delivery systems, and often inventing improvements to machinery to make his job and the job of future truckers better. Their four boys took the love, passion, skills and determination they learned from their parents to make their homes to raise their families all across the country. Bob and Edel enjoyed traveling to visit their boys and their families, enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob lives on through his family; First son, Robert Wayne "Bobby" Fromm and grandson Spencer of Wichita KS, granddaughter Shannon Borgeson, great grandchildren Hailey and Tyler; of Duluth, MN, second son, Richard Arthur "Dick" Fromm and wife Debbie of Midlothian, TX, granddaughters Amy Clark (Ethan) great grandchildren Avery and Luke of Midlothian TX, granddaughter Heidi Edel of San Francisco, CA, and; third son James Fredrick "Jim" Fromm wife Rita of Indianola, IA, grandson Mason (Heather) great grandchildren Julianna, Holden, and Harrison of Cedar Falls, IA, granddaughter Monica Thompson (Joe) of Indianola, great grandchildren James, Emma, Clara, Henry; fourth son, Charles John "Chuck" Fromm, wife Karen, granddaughters Ariel and Myka of Kensington, MD and many nieces and nephews including Leroy Fromm and Phyllis Montoya of Cheney, KS. There will be a visitation from 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 30 held in the Chapel at the Good Samaritan Society care facility at 708 South Jefferson in Indianola, IA. Friends may also attend a military service and inurnment that will be held on Tuesday, December 28 at 11 a.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at Van Meter, IA. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara (Lindquist) Fromm, sisters, Ann Pratt and Leona Dobias, brothers, Clarence, Carl and George Fromm. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to send memorial contributions to the Good Samaritan Society of Indianola or Hospice of Central Iowa, who did so much to help Bob in his final days.
