Obituary

Robert (Bob) Charles Morrison died at home Friday, June 16, 2006 due to complications from cancer.  In his honor, a Celebration of Life will be held at his home Sunday, June 25th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm with Memories shared at 3:00pm.   Bob was born on September 28, 1927 in Charleston, West Virginia to Robert and Ruth Morrison.  After high school graduation, Bob enlisted in the Army and served time in Alaska where he developed his photography talents.  Bob utilized the GI Bill for an undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and a graduate degree from Boston University in record time.

Bob met his wife of 54 years, Elodie (Treadgold), at West Virginia University.  While promoting orange juice in a grocery store, Bob's marketing talents were discovered by a General Electric executive which led to immediate employment.  Bob's career led to Schenectady, NY, San Francisco, CA, Pittsburgh, PA and eventually, Minneapolis, MN.  After an established career history with agencies such as Fuller Smith and Ross, Knox Reeves and McManus John & Adams, Bob launched his own successful marketing consultation business.

Bob and Elodie retired to 70 acres near St. Cloud, MN where as Master Gardeners, their skills and expertise flourished. Bob's enjoyment included 300 apple trees along with his 1952 beloved Farmall tractor.  In 2002, Bob and Elodie moved to Indianola, IA where several gardens and 20 miniature fruit trees thrive at their home.

Bob is survived by his wife, Elodie, and four daughters: Elodie (Sandy) Opstad of Indianola, IA;  Rebecca (Don) Lessard of Traverse City; MI, Catherine and Barbara in Minneapolis, MN; 7 grandchildren Nathan, Galen, Ambrose, Iris, Elodie, Jonathan and Meghan; and his brother, David of Harrisburg, PA.
