Robert (Bob) Babcock, 74, died at home on Thursday, October 11, 2007. He was born at Lacona, IA to John and Ivah Babcock and graduated from Lacona High School in 1950. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 – 1956 and worked at Chumbley's Gas Station & L.P. Delivery for many years, retiring in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Norman Babcock. Bob is survived by his wife, Marge; step-children Jill (Jack) Blake of Olathe, KS, Jay (Leslie) Cleveland of Johnston; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Richard (Cathy), Bill (Rosie) and Don (Rose) all of Indianola.

He enjoyed his family and going to the farm and gardening.

Bob's body has been cremated and visitation with family will be held 4 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Overton Funeral Home.  A military service will be held at 5:30 p.m. followed by a time of sharing.  Memorials may be given to the American Legion Post # 165 in Indianola.
