Mr. Thacker was cremated and no services are scheduled.

Richard was born July 19, 1914, in Homer Nebraska, and had lived in Indianola the majority of his life while owning and operating Thacker Super Valu Grocery Store. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth of Indianola; children, Rand Thacker of Waukee, Richie Thacker of Minneapolis, MN, Reta Moore of Clyde, CA, Rhonda Marchant and Reed Thacker both of Indianola, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

The family asks memorials be given to Westview Care Center in Indianola.
