Services for Richard "Dick" Garity, 61, who passed away Saturday, October 27 at home, will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 31 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Richard Gordon Garity, son of Mary Cecilia (Dant) and James Fenton Garity was born June 14, 1946 in Creston, Iowa. On March 8, 1970 Richard married Deanna Ann Davis in Osceola, Iowa. In 1964 he enlisted in the US Navy and served four plus years.

Richard was an employee of Wells Fargo. He graduated from Murray High School and attended Des Moines Area Community College. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and loved riding on his John Deere Tractor. He loved spending time with his family and his beloved Doberman Pinschers, Max and Joe.

Survivors include his wife, Deanna Ann Garity of Indianola and his two daughters, Susan Garity and Peggy White; four brothers, Fred (Elaine) Garity, Pat (Linda) Garity, Ed (Sharon) Garity, and David Garity; six sisters, Rosemary (Rex) Kneedler, Laura O'Riley, Helen Gillen, Martha (Darwin) Miller, Agnes (Hal) Burton and Teresa (Lonnie) Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Mike in infancy, Ted Garity and Joe; and one sister, Margaret Blazek.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
