A Celebration of Life visitation for Richard C. Ervin, 75, who passed away peacefully in his sleep, Sunday, August 28, 2016, will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 2 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Dick was born in Newton, Iowa to his parents Charlie and Evelyn.  He was a brother to Shirley and Sandy.

He worked for Concrete Precast and then worked for Overnite Transportation for 11 years before retiring in 1996. He would spend his time watching Chicago Bears football, Chicago Cubs baseball, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Nancy; their four children, Brian(Sara) Ervin, Deanna (David) Beemer, Amanda Cornelison and Colleena Ervin; their eight grandchildren, William, Alisha, Riley, Ethan, Katie, Joe, Lucy and Izzy;  their "adopted daughter," Kelly Blackburn;  their adopted son, Mike Wilson; his daughters, Sherry May, Julie and Annette; sons, Scott and Richard J. and his half sister Sarah Derry. He is preceded in death by his children Patty Lou, Kim, Rick and Scotty.
