Obituary

Memorial services for Richard "Dick" Bradford, 76, who died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 23, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola.

Dick was born in Des Moines, IA.  He was united in marriage to Shirley Lager.  To this union his four daughters were born, Dixie, Cindy, Becky and Annette.  On December 30, 1972 he was married to Maxine Friedman.  Dick retired from Simpson College after 20 years when he and Red Van Pelt started Van Pelt and Bradford Painting.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, American Legion Post # 165 and had received his 30 year pin with A.A.

He is survived by his wife Maxine; daughters, Dixie (Steve) Fry, Cindy (Tim) Hommer and Annette (Les) Johnson all of Indianola and Becky (Jack) Boes of Fontanelle; step-sons, Stephen (Jane) Friedman of Monroe, Mark Friendman of Booneville, Roger (Madge) Friedman of Concorde, N.C., Robert (Angela) Friedman of Mooresville, N.C.; step-daughter, Suzanne (Tony) Core of Indianola; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mildred Bradford and step-daughter-in-law Kris Friedman
