October 29, 1934 – November 10, 2020
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Rena Stackhouse on September 25 th , 11:00 am at the First Methodist Church in Indianola. Rena Christine was born to Dirk and Molly Steenhard in Hampton, Iowa on October 29, 1934, and joined Dad on heaven's dance floor on November 10, 2020, after a short stay at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rena and Junior were married in Hampton, Iowa and celebrated 66 years together farming, raising a family, dancing, and playing cards. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Lacona and worked at the Indianola McDonalds for 25 years, where she made many friends and enjoyed getting to know her customers. Garage sales, auctions, reading, arranging flowers, and crafts were some of the things she enjoyed doing. Of course, spending time with family was her most favorite thing.
She is survived by children Jenine (Craig) Henry, Brian (DeeDee) Stackhouse, Janet Tingwald (Bruce Hartley) and June Stackhouse, Grandchildren: Brandy (Andrew) Lundy, Nicole (Cory) Kennedy, Bryce (Lisa) Tingwald, Ali (Trent) Meimann, Jamie (Jerod) Lund, Jessica Stackhouse, Joe (Samantha) Stackhouse: Greatgrandchildren: Camryn and Adelyn Bruce, Ashdin, Noah, Molly and Brisco Lund, Peyton and Beau Meimann, Kinley Tingwald, Glen, Reagan and Ellie Clark and Kayson Stackhouse; brother Archie (Sheri) Steenhard and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Junior, parents, infant son Bruce, and many of her dear relatives and friends. Memorials in her name may be made to Ronald McDonald House or Kavanagh Hospice House.
Thank you for following church policy that requires everyone to wear a mask. There will be a time of visitation with family following the service.
