Rebecca (Becky) McQuern Harvey, loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026 in Indianola, Iowa.

Born on September 17, 1940, in Osceola, Iowa, Becky was the beloved daughter of Gilbert and Gladys McQuern. Becky was a proud graduate of Indianola High School and furthered her education at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.

Her professional life was marked by her dedication as a longtime activity’s leader at Good Samaritan in Indianola, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Becky expressed her love of music through her long-time service as an organist, pianist and choir member at the First Baptist Church in Indianola.

She was the loving mother of Scott (Susan) and Tom Harvey, proud grandmother of two, including her granddaughter, Julie; step grandmother to Colton Kartchner, Dalton Kartchner, Austin Kartchner, and Taylor Kartchner. She shared a close bond with her sister, Kathi Oster, who survives her. Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; parents; sister, Judy; and her granddaughter, Ashley.

Becky was an avid supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed cheering on Iowa State football. Above all, she found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Becky will be remembered as a good friend to all who knew her.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 15 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Webb Cemetery, Rural Norwalk. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Please honor Becky’s memory by wearing your favorite pastel or something colorful. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Becky’s memory to Necessity Pantry at the New Heights Church in Indianola.
