Obituary

Memorial services with military rites for Ralph L. Morlan, 84, who died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2009, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Ralph served in the United States Navy during World War II as a gunner on a torpedo bomber flying off of the USS Yorktown.  On August 18, 1946, he was united in marriage to Marcella Ann DeBoest.

He is survived by his wife, M. Ann Morlan; son, Michael Morlan of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Nancy Morlan Miller of Columbia, MO; sister, Bonnie Neiderheiser of Des Moines; grandchildren, Master Sarg. Scott Miller, Michelle Smith and Candy Allen; and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation with family present will be held 1 hour prior to services on Monday, January 5 at Overton Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to the Indianola Regular Baptist Church Building Fund, Quakerdale in New Providence, IA, or Iowa Health Homecare Hospice.  Online condolences may be sent at www.overtonfunerals.com.
