Memorial services for Ralph and Margaret Uster, longtime residents of Indianola, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Overton Funeral Home, Indianola, Iowa. Inurnment of cremains will immediately follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Indianola.

Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to services. Donations can be made to Friends of Warren County Conservation Board in memory of Ralph and Margaret Uster, for the Annette Nature Center.

Margaret Augusta Besche was born in Dortmund, Germany on March 14, 1921, to Joseph and Margarete (Borchert) Besche. Immigrating to the United States as a child, she spent her teen years in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Ralph William Uster was born June 21, 1928 in Long Island, New York to William and Margaritha (Heineger) Uster. Ralph had his Bachelor's Degree and worked in Agricultural sales.

Ralph and Margaret were united in marriage on August 21, 1953 and called Indianola, Iowa home for much of their adult lives.

Margaret nurtured life in many ways. Having become a registered nurse at a young age, she worked as an industrial, school, and public health nurse over the course of her career.  Margaret was also a life-long gardener, sharing her love of plants with her community, family, and friends.

Ralph William Uster, 82, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 surrounded by his family at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines, Iowa of lung  cancer.

Margaret, 96, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa having suffered a stroke the previous day.

Ralph and Margaret are survived by their three children, Craig (Dianne) Jones of Des Moines, Rick (Nancy) Uster of Adel and Nancy (Scott) Staska of Kansas City, MO; seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Cary) Peterson, Kristin (Nate) Agrimson, Cole Uster, Chase Uster, Stephen Staska, Erika Staska, and Trenton Staska; and five great-grandchildren, Ellie, Brooklynn and Jake Peterson and Raegan and Makenna Agrimson.
