Funeral services for Ralph R. Butler, 82, who died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, will be held 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 15 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 16 at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa.

Ralph was born in Burlington, Iowa, and graduated from the Burlington High School. He continued his education by attending Burlington Junior College for 2 years. Ralph served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked 20 years for Silos Mason Co. as a tool design engineer and also worked with irrigation systems in Nebraska. He had lived in Yuba City, California for 12 ½ years before moving to Indianola. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his children, David (Lynette) Bjorklund of Mesa, AZ, Susan (John) Piffer of Indianola, Sara (Thomas) Eberlein of Wausau, WI, Jane (Craig) Hall of Katy, TX and Nancy (Bruce) Killpack of Mesa, AZ; brothers, Russell Butler of Tulsa, OK and Bob Butler of Letts, IA; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 15 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be made to Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
