Obituary

Funeral services for Jerry Palmer, 73, who passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Mesa, AZ will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at Indianola First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Indianola. Visition will be held on Thursday, March 26 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home.

Jerry was born March 27, 1935 in Humiston, Iowa. He was one of 4 children having 2 brothers Ronald and Larry and one sister Mary Alice who proceeded him in death.

His lifes work included 35 years in the contracting business and 15 years in the Army National Guard. In January 1954 he and Twila (Liggett) were united in marriage and God blessed their union with three children; Brad, Jana and Brian. Jerry was a devoted family man and loved his kids and grandkids. He retired in 2002. Jerry enjoyed the out of doors and the beauty of God's creation. In the past few years he looked forward to RVing in Arizona.

He is survived by wife, Twila (Liggett) of Indianola; 2 sons, Brad (Edie) Palmer, Bullhead City, AZ, Brian (Barb) Palmer, Norwood, IA , 1 daughter Jana (David) Tanner, Ackworth, IA; grandchildren, Kenneth (Angelina) Schmidt, Tucson, AZ, Matthew and Alicia Palmer, Bullhead City, AZ, Katie and Jennifer Tanner, Ackworth, IA, Zachary and Charlie Palmer, Norwood, IA; and one great-granddaughter; 2 brothers Larry (Marsha Kay) Palmer and Ronald (Nancy) Palmer both of Arizona and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials can made to the Windsor United Methodist Church, Windsor Heights.
