Born in Indianola, she had lived most of her life in the Spring Hill area. She worked at the Redman and retired from Country Kitchen in Indianola.

She is survived by her children, Ed (Susan) Carter of Spring Hill, Brenda (Allen) Chapman of Des Moines and Mike (Brenda) Carter of Indianola; 4 grandchildren, Levi and Zachary Carter and Dawn and Scott Chapman. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Donna Nutting, Alice (Henry) Nutting all of Milo, and Mary (Wilbur) Thompson of Indianola; 7 brothers, Jake (Norma) Benge of Patterson, Ronnie Benge of Osceola, Tom (Janice) Benge and Rod (Sherry) Benge all of Russell, Tiny (Debbie) Benge of Norwalk, Scott (Jean) Benge of Sandyville and John (Karla) Benge of Beech. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lela Benge and brother, Lee Benge.

Visitation will be held 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, May 28 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be given to Warren County Nutrition for Meals on Wheels or Mercy Home Hospice.
