Philip Leo Hopper, 70, of Indianola, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in Des Moines.  Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Martensdale Community Church with burial following at the Hewitt Cemetery.

Phil was a strong, kind man who loved helping others and cared deeply for his friends and family.  Spending time and teaching his grandkids was top on his list.  He enjoyed music and loved sharing his gift of singing with others in the church.  Phil was an encourager and enjoyed visiting and encouraging others.  He will be sorely missed!

Phil will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jayne, of 40 years; children, Jacob (Callie) Hopper and Kathryn Hopper; grandchildren, Abby, Debbie, Becky, and Jackson Hopper; mother-in-law, Ruth Berneking; sister-in-law, Terri (Bob) Ross and brother-in-law, Kirk (Beckie) Berneking; and four nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Volie Leo and Mary Elizabeth (Forsythe) Hopper and his father-in-law, Wybern Berneking.
