Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Pearl had resided in rural Indianola for the past five years. She previously had lived in Des Moines. Pearl had worked as a housekeeper in private homes; she enjoyed crosswork puzzles, television, and dancing.

She was preceded in death by a son Donald Summers.

Surviving are two daughters, Thelma (George) Chapman of rural Indianola and Kathy Shannon of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
