PAUL JOSEPH VEASMAN Indianola Services for Paul Joseph Veasman, 77 of Indianola, who passed to the Lord on February 16, 2013 due to complications of cancer, will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, February 23 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. Burial with military rites, will follow at the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 22 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends. A Rosary/Vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Paul was born March 3, 1935 to Paul and Catherine Veasman. He retired as a Master Sargent in the Iowa Air National Guard. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 165. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing cribbage and spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean; three sons, Pat (Brenda), Mark (Tammy), and Dan (Kim); daughter, Cathy (John) Mayer; ten grandchildren, John Michael (Leah), Cole (Carmen) and Katie Mayer, Ashley (Adam) Thompson, Joshua (Kylie) and Gretchen Veasman, Chelsie Veasman, Luc, Max and Quinn Veasman; one great-grandchild, Drake Thompson; sisters, Rita Kimm, Viola Hines, Clara Navratil, Maxine Edwards, Donna Rieck, Virginia Smith and Patricia Galbert; and brothers, John, Larry and Mike Veasman. Preceding him in death were his father and mother and sisters Dorothy Naberhaus, Carolyn Reeves, Lucille Johnson, Julia Zwierzchki, Mary Lehman, Darlene Reeves, Loretta Garreau and Mildred Nichols.
