Services for Paul E. Lee, 90, who passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 23 at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Paul was born March 30, 1925 the son of Royal and Helen (Level) Lee in Wick, IA. He graduated from St. Marys High School in 1943 and went on to serve in the Merchant Marines and United States Navy during WWII. On November 21, 1947, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Stephen and to this union three children, Phillip, Sandra and Stephen, were born.

Paul was a member of the Indianola First United Methodist Church where he was very active, V.F.W and American Legion Posts in Indianola, Indianola Evening Lion's Club, and had volunteered for F.I.S.H., Meals on Wheels, Helping Hand. Paul worked for Sutherlands, Circle B, Wicks, Capp Homes and then retired from Wicks. In his retirement he worked for Trembly's Plumbing and Heating in Indianola. His passion was baseball (Cardinals) and attending his grandchildren's activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Judson Lee; sisters, Alice McConnell, Pauline Banks, Lois Stroud, Mary Ellen Deal and Dorothy Lee. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; children, Phillip Lee, Sandra (Jack) Lorenzen, and Stephen (Sue) Lee; brother, Keith (Maxine) Lee; grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Travis, Treva, Tarissa, Joseph, Maggie and Rusty; nine great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 22 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends. Memorials may be given to the Indianola First United Methodist Church, Kiya Koda Humane Society or HCI Care Services.
