Patricia Janice Hughes, 76, passed away at home on September 17, 2022. Patti was born February 8, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of Edward Cooper and Hattie Anna Lowry.

Patti grew up in San Diego, California and moved to Iowa in 1993. In San Diego, Patti owned a concrete pumping business and after moving to Iowa, Patti was in advertising sales for the Osceola -Sentinel Tribune. While working for the Tribune, Patti and Larry met and were married in 1999.  Patti loved animals. She volunteered at a dog shelter and was an avid horse lover. Patti and Larry met many friends through their trail riding adventures.  Patti daily enjoyed working with and watching her horses.

Patti is survived by her loving husband, Larry; her children, Eddie (Jacquie), Cheri (Van), Larry (Janet), Kendra (Scott); 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Cooper and Ed Cooper; and many nieces and nephews.  Patti is preceded in death by her parents.

A Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday September 24, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola, followed by a luncheon reception at the church. The family will be present to greet visitors one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the KIYA KODA Humane Society in Indianola.
