Patricia Lou Hampshire, 75, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 in Des Moines.  No services are planned and cremation has taken place.

Patty was born on December 16, 1948 to Mildred and Leonard Onstot in Des Moines. Patty had three siblings, Kay "Onstot" Hail, Vicki "Onstot" Brandow, and Gary Onstot. The family lived near Spring Hill and then rural Norwalk, where Patty graduated in 1967 from Norwalk High School. On September 1, 1967 she married Terry Hampshire and they were married for 57 years.

Patty was a dedicated employee of Iowa Methodist Hospital – Younkers Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy Department for 44 years.

Patty and Terry did not have children of their own, but spending time with their nieces and nephews and neighbor kids was a big part of their lives. It was often said their front door was a revolving door with a niece or nephew or neighbor coming in or out. That also included their pets.

Patty made friends easily and made many friends over the years. She was a very caring and thoughtful person and many of those friendships lasted a lifetime. Once retired, she really enjoyed her "Out to Lunch Bunch," her exercise class, and "The Red Hat Club." Patty loved going fishing, out for dinner, and on trips to Branson with Terry.

Patty will be greatly missed by us all . . . till we meet again. Survivors include her husband, Terry Hampshire; sister, Vicki Brandow; and several nieces and nephews.
