Patricia Kay "Alex" Boothe, 65, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at her home in rural Warren County. A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Alex was born on March 26, 1947 in Harlan, Iowa to Russell and Deloris Adams. She was graduated from Elk Horn High School and Northwest Missouri State University. After spending time working in education as a school librarian, a special education teacher, and a member of the Indianola school board, she then focused her talents and time working in the Des Moines fine arts community and supporting her husband Larry Boothe's business Sunstar. Her lifelong creative spirit was always finding new outlets. She especially loved to entertain, and her Halloween parties were always memorable. Later in life she turned her interests to watercolor painting and was very proud to see some of her paintings on display at Hoyt Sherman Place and the Des Moines Art Center. She is survived by her husband Larry Boothe, daughter Regina Hopingardner, parents Russell and Deloris Adams, uncle and aunt Rex and Betty Adams, and siblings Jayne (Adams) Baugh, Teresa Adams, and David Adams.
