Othella Marie Knust was born in Marion County, Newbern, IA on August 9, 1923 to Jacob and Mabel Feight. She was the seventh of eight children, having four brothers, Stanley, Leslie, Walter, John and three sisters, Lois, Jesse, and Jean. She married Arthur C. Knust on June 26, 1940 at Kirksville, MO. They had two children, Sheryl L. Jones and Arlen L. Knust. They farmed and lived northwest of Lacona on the Knust family farm until 1963 when they moved to Indianola, IA. Arthur continued to farm and Othella worked at various establishments in Indianola, finally retiring in 1989 from Dahl's Grocery Stores in Des Moines, IA after 20 years. They were members of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola. She resided in Iowa until June 1999 when she moved to Castle Rock, CO to be nearer her children. Othella like to read and sew, making many quilts of which her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are the proud owners. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters; her husband Arthur. She is survived by her children; daughter, Sheryl Jones; son, Arlen Knust; grandchildren, Tonja Furrow and Todd Clark; great grandchildren, Jessica and Wade Miller and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 9 at Overton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 8 at Overton Funeral Home with the family present from 6 - 8 p.m. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Indianola.
