Norma Frances Pugh was born on July 10, 1927 in Indianola, Iowa to the late George and Dorothea King. She was preceded in death by her husband (Marvin Leroy Pugh) and her brothers (Howard and Charles King).

On July 21, 1946, she and Marvin were married. Their marriage was blessed with two children, a son, Marvin Avery Pugh, and a daughter, Nola Jean Pugh French. Norma was baptized and confirmed in 2001 at Zion Lutheran Church in Maryland Heights.

Norma spent 80 years of her life on a farm in Warren County, Iowa raising pigs. She cooked for the local school for more than 20 years. In her free time, she loved to ride horses, sports - especially baseball, cooking and crafts, particularly knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed card games and Cribbage.

Norma had been a member of King of Kings since November of 2008. She volunteered frequently with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), providing care for children while their mothers participated in the group. Norma was also frequently seen as a volunteer during Vacation Bible School, helping in a variety of ways. She was always quick with a smile.

Norma leaves behind her dear children Nola (William) French and Marvin (Carla) Pugh; dear grandchildren Timothy and Kyle French; dear nephew James (Cheryl) King and dear niece Theresa (Joe) Saskowski. She was a dear great-aunt and friend to many.

On July 6, 2023 the Lord called Norma Frances Pugh home to Heaven to be with Him and those who went before her.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Norma's memory may be made to the Liberty Center American Legion Post # 661.
