Funeral services for Norma M. Breese, 74, who passed away at Kavanagh House in Des Moines on November 2, 2007 from complications of cancer, will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 7 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremains will be at a later date in the Sandyville Cemetery.

Norma was born in Sandyville, Iowa to Elbert and Edna Porter and lived in Central Iowa her whole life. Norma enjoyed playing scrabble with her friends and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

She is survived by her son, A.J; three granddaughters, Beth (Matt) Porter, Kelsey and Mackenzie Breese all of New Virginia, and her three sisters, Helen (Gene) Lester, Marilyn (Jim) Ferguson and Sandra (Gerald) Hammond. She was the beloved "Aunt Nonie" to several nieces and nephews, and will also be missed by many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Breese, sister Iris Pilmer and daughter-in-law Karen.

Visitation will be held 4 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Virginia Township Fire and Rescue or the Jesus' Right Hand of New Virginia.
