IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norah Jean
Hasenwinkel
September 9, 2003 – June 2, 2024
Norah Jean Hasenwinkel entered the world at 3:33 a.m. on September 9, 2003. From the moment she arrived things were done her way! Norah took her last breath on earth on June 2, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be held at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th St SW, Altoona, IA on Thursday, June 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the funeral being conducted at the church on Friday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m., a luncheon will immediately follow the funeral.
Norah excelled at being in the middle of the action whether it was softball, dance, cheer, church, school, or her favorite socializing with friends and family. She was always laughing and looking for ways to be helpful and adventurous she simply loved trying new things. Norah developed a love for service to others through church, which included many mission trips within Iowa and out of state. This would give birth to her desire to love and educate children.
Norah graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 2021. While still operating under the guidelines of COVID, this made for an interesting and 'distanced' senior year of high school! Norah took her passion for children and graduated from DMACC on May 1, 2024, with an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Certificate of Administration. She had achieved her education goal! She was blessed to be working in administration at Pipsy's Wee Care & Pre School in Indianola, she absolutely loved it!
Along with Jesus, Norah was met in heaven by her two grandfathers, Lyle Ruble and Alan Hasenwinkel.
She is incredibly missed here on earth by countless individuals who will honor and remember her always. Those left behind are Lori Ruble, mother; Matt Hasenwinkel, father; and Kaine Hasenwinkel, brother.
Norah was incredibly blessed to have a family that loved and encouraged her along the way, they are, Barb Ruble and Nancy Hasenwinkel, grandmothers; Rick Ruble, uncle (Debbie, Averey, Aiden (Mikayla), and Adrianna); Lisa Beener, aunt (JJ, Josh (Amanda, Sabryn, and Colsen) Jakob (Caitlin), and Meghan, and Megan Hasenwinkel, aunt (Michael Schumacher, Ethan, Kiera, and Sofie).
Norah spent her short time on this earth learning and enjoying all that life offered her. Her family prays that each of you would smile when you think of her, do something to help someone else, get to know your neighbors, and get involved in your community. We were created to be in community with others.
After the funeral, Norah will be cremated and laid to rest in the IOOF Memorial Cemetery in Indianola in a private service at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family with the goal of establishing a scholarship at Southeast Polk for individuals choosing education as their path in life.
