A Celebration of Life Service for Nicole Carter, 37, who passed away November 2, 2021, will be held at 5:30 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2021 at Overton Funeral Home, Indianola, Iowa.   A memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service, 5:30 p.m.

Nikki grew up in Norwalk and moved to Martensdale in nineth grade.  In junior high, she ran track and played softball.  She graduated from Martensdale/ St. Marys High School in 2002.  She loved spending time with her daughter and family. Her favorite pastime was cruising in her hooptie.  She enjoyed the outdoors, dogs, fishing and nature; she was a free spirit.

Nikki is survived by her daughter, Natalee Nicole Cooney; mother, Kendra Carter-Sandy; step-father, Jeff Sandy; brother, Brandon (Brandy) Carter; sisters, Amanda (Vinny) Gomez and Lindsey Sandy; nieces and nephews, Landon, Elli, Camdon, Markee, Kaydon, Letty and Norie; grandfather, Terrance Mock, grandmother, Cathie Carter, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  She is also survived by her extended family, Amy, Alissa and Jeff.  She was preceded in death by her father, Marc Carter; grandmother, Jayne Mock; grandfather, Vic Carter; great grandparents, Paul and Vesta Crews, Mary Noble and Curly Mock; aunt, Brenda Robbins; uncle, Junior Terrelle; extended sister, Samantha and grandmother, Naomi Lawr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nikki's family.
