NEAL A. BEERY

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Neal Beery, 91, of Indianola, IA passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.  After graduation from Indianola High School, Neal proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.

He joined Indianola Fire Department on December 1, 1946 serving until December 31, 1981.  He enjoyed his time on the Fire Department immensely. Neal was united in marriage to Marzette Shannon on September 7, 1952.

In his early years, Neal worked as a fuel delivery driver, a meat cutter for many years at Twin Pines Grocery, and also served as an outside grounds keeper for the Indianola School District.

He loved fishing and sports.  In retirement he and Marzette enjoyed spending time at their cabin and Pine Manor Resort in Hackensack, Minnesota where he could fish whenever he wanted.

Neal is survived by his sons, Allen and Denny (Leah); two grandchildren, Kelsey (Matt) Stone, Tanner (Amanda) Beery; and three great-grandchildren, Mica and Piper Beery and Jacen Stone.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Marzette and parents Willard and Viola.
