MINDI LEIGH SCHRADER

Mindi Leigh Schrader, 50, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in Des Moines, IA. The family has chosen to not hold public services at this time.

Mindi was born in Dubuque, IA and later spent her time between her family there and Des Moines, IA. Mindi is survived by her children, Jonis (Mya) Dembinski, Jayden Schrader; parents, Jim (Connie Mitchell) Cate, Deborah Nicks; sisters, Tara (Chris) Donner-Dembinski, Amy Donner; aunt, Dorene Rettenberger; brothers, Samuel (Shawna Woller) Ostendorf, Daniel Ostendorf; and many other family and friends.

Some of the many things Mindi enjoyed include cooking delicious meals, painting murals for her children, drawing, and hot-air balloons. Most of all, Mindi loved all aspects of the water. She had the unique experience of growing up on the Mississippi River, as her grandparents lived on a houseboat full time.This sparked a passion that was seen through her involvement in the dive team at her local high school. It is only fitting that she passed away peacefully on this first day of summer, 2022.

Memorials may be given to the family in her name.
