Services for Milton "Al" Gonzalez, 77, who died Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines, will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 15, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial with military rites will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Gonzalez was born in Newport, RI and had lived in Woodburn and Des Moines before moving to Indianola in 1960. He was employed for the Indianola Police Department where he retired in 1987.

Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his sons, James Hood of Houston, TX and Allan Gonzalez of Des Moines; daughter, Shirley Hood of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte.

Visitation will be held 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m.. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
