Millie, and her twin sister Marian, was born in Martinsburg, IA on December 22, 1929. She graduated from high school in Hedrick, IA in 1946. Millie married Robert "Bob" Coffey in 1950. Cooking, baking and family meals brought Millie joy. She could often be found in the kitchen and was known for her fabulous egg noodles and fruit pies. Millie loved to read and had an extensive library. During the growing season she spent most evenings tending her garden with the help of Bob.

The Iowa State Fair held a special place in Millie's heart. Together with Bob and their children and grandchildren, they made an annual day-long trip to the State Fair for decades. From the baking competitions to the music and the fair food, Millie loved all parts of the fair.
