Michael "Mick" Stalter, 74, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, after a long battle with COPD.

Mick was born in Indianola, on March 13, 1949, to Donald C. and Frances (Broyles) Stalter. He grew up in Liberty Center and New Virginia, with his brother Allen and sister Shelley. He helped his parents work on the family farm. In 1967, he graduated from Interstate 35 High School.

On November 22, 1980, Mick and Janice (Watson) were united in marriage in Indianola. They made their home in Indianola and raised their three children, Betsy, Michelle and Donald.

After years of farming, Mick worked as a driver for Country Propane and retired in 2013.

Mick enjoyed watching Westerns, rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes, collecting firearms, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mick is survived by his three children, Betsy Stalter (Tyler Connelly), Michelle Robbins (Jesse Robbins), and Donald Stalter (Venessa Stalter); his sister, Shelley Lucas; seven grandchildren, Quintin Bradley, Tripp Connelly, Audrey Robbins, Caleb Robbins, Michael Stalter, Cecilia Stalter, and Elliot Robbins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Stalter; parents, Donald and Frances Stalter; brother, Allen Stalter; sister-in-law Rita Stalter; and brother-in-law, John Lucas.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, where family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed to The American Red Cross, in Mick's name.

Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Overton Funeral Home, with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery.
