Michael George Nestvedt, age 71, passed away peacefully at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa on February 6, 2025.  Mike was born on February 23, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky to Daryl and Veronica (Bonnie) Nestvedt.  They later moved to Indianola, Iowa where Mike grew up and graduated from Indianola High School in 1971.

Shortly after High School he joined and served in the United States Navy.  After his Honorable discharge from the Navy, he went on to Barber College and shortly after he married and started his family.  He went onto earn his CNA Degree,

and really enjoyed working with the elderly.  Mike was known for his unique sense of humor and storytelling.  He absolutely loved camping, fishing, many travel adventures and being out in nature.  That is where he truly found his joy.  He also enjoyed horses, riding his motorcycle, and creating many unique pieces of art whether it be drawing, painting or wood crafting.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his son Scott Nestvedt; grandson, Jarrett Nestvedt and his twin grandchildren Odessios and Zacara Harrison and two great grandchildren, Royce RK and Kenneth Lee Nestvedt; siblings, Pat (Sue) Nestvedt of West Des Moines, Joe (Mary) Nestvedt of Indianola, David Nestvedt of Carlisle and Mary (Pat) Ratigan of Beatrice, Nebraska as-well-as several nieces and nephews.

Christian Burial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Overton Funeral Home.  Family will greet friends prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow services in the Indianola I.O.O.F.
