Funeral services for Michael L. Miller, 70, who passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Des Moines, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Indianola First Assembly of God Church with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Michael LeRoy Miller was born on June 11, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Nelson and Effie Miller.  He was united in marriage to Audrey Veatch on June 2, 1973, which was also Audrey's parents wedding anniversary. They were married for 48 years. Mike enjoyed his time being retired after working 50 plus years. Most of his time was spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, any time spent with them he loved. Mike also loved big family gatherings and being surrounded by loved ones. He always said the more the merrier.

He had a green thumb and took pride in his garden. He put in a lot of work canning and making fresh salsa from the garden. Mike liked working on projects and fixing things up. Whether it was for the house, his kids, or the church, he was always there to lend a hand. Many years back, Mike was a den leader for both of his boys, as well as coaching little league. If it had to deal with family, he was there. Mike loved many but was also loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his wife Audrey; children, Corey Miller, David (Heidi) Miller; grandchildren, Kaylee (Nick) Smith, Hannah Miller, Brooklynn Miller, Talon Miller, Nova Miller and Grady Miller; great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Thea Smith; siblings, Eddie (Kathy) Miller, Beverly (Glenn) Shounkwiler, Dorene Spencer, and Kevin (Becky) Miller and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Effie Miller.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at First Assembly of God Church with family present from 5 to 8 p.m.  Memorials may be given in his name to First Assembly of God Church.
