Funeral services for Michael Douglas Dee, 62, who died Sunday, December 21, 2008, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Burial will follow in the IOOF Memorial Gardens in Indianola.

Mike graduated from Indianola High School where he played football and wrestled. He served in the United States Marine Reserves for 8 years. Mike worked for AE for the past 26 years, where he had a great appreciation for his co-workers. He enjoyed working with his tractor, flying in an airplane with his son, and playing with his two grandsons. He loved his pets and the animals that often frequented the feeders he placed in the backyard.  He also enjoyed spending time with his brother-in-laws.  Above all, Mike was a devout confessional Lutheran and was a member of Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Indianola.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Michelle Deephippen of Indianola; son, Ryan (Kathy) Dee of Urbandale; his grandsons Shane and Brandt.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Shelton; grandparents, John and Mary Shelton.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, at Overton Funeral Home with family present from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m.  Memorials may be given to Bethel Mission in Des Moines.
