Merwin Strahan, age 93, a life long resident of Warren County, died August 30th, 2008. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m., Tuesday September 2nd, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA. Visitation will be held 11:00 a. m., Tuesday prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Wallace Cemetery in Wick.

Merwin was born in Ft. Collins, CO, but was raised and lived most of his life west of Indianola on the family farm. Merwin made his living in sales of automobiles and health products. He was a member of Martensdale Community Church for much of his life. Later he served as an Elder of Des Moines Fellowship Church with his nephews Reid and Paul Strahan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Nora Strahan, of Prole, IA; his brothers and sisters, Emerson Strahan of Morgan Hill, California, Maxine Cluck of Oakland, California, Phyllis Cleveland of Norwalk, IA, Lowell Strahan of Lenexa, Ks, Bonita Strahan and Wendell Strahan of Prole, IA.

Merwin is survived by his nieces and nephews; Janet Strahan of Morgan Hill, CA, Sondra Grams of Milo, IA, Candace Alexander of Norwalk, IA, Karla Ewert of Omaha, NE, Reid Strahan of Ankeny, IA, Paul Strahan of Des Moines, IA and Linda Freyler of Olathe, KS
