Services for Merry L. Stroud will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola, IA with visitation prior to services from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow services in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Merry Lea Stroud of Indianola, IA was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26th, 2015 at Mission Medical Center in Mission, TX, due to complications following a stroke.

Merry was born January 7th, 1940 at home in Indianola, IA to Clarke and Margaret Caskey.

She loved going to music jams and singing a song or two with the bands, as well. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, and very much enjoyed wintering in Mission, TX with her husband, Ray and loved all of their many friends there.

During the summers Merry enjoyed the company of her family and friends whether sitting outside in her rocker, taking the grand and great-grandchildren fishing, or planting and admiring her beautiful flower garden. You most likely would find her outside as she loved being outdoors.

When Merry's boys were younger she and husband, LeRoy Larson, would spend many weekends taking their 5 sons camping with Merry's sisters and their families. The saying to have never met a stranger is an understatement for Merry. She always welcomed anyone she met with open arms and heart.

Merry is survived by husband, Ray Stroud of Indianola; sister, Nona Willis of Knoxville; sons, John (Diane) Larson of Indianola, Mark Larson of Indianola, Brett (Charlene) Larson of Cedar Rapids, Kirk (Carla) Larson of Cedar Rapids, and Doug (Brandi) Larson of Indianola; step-children, Cleo (Trish) Stroud of Indianola, Carolyn (Frank) Irwin of Ft. Dix, NJ, Carmen (Rupe) Morton of Milo and Candy (Kurt) Cronbaugh of Lacona; 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Larson, brothers Franklin and Lawrence Caskey, and sisters Iris Iddings and Joan Alexander.
