Maxine was born on December 30, 1948 in Decatur County to William David and Flossie (Everman) Logan. She had lived in Des Moines for 30 plus years where she was a 1967 graduate of Des Moines Technical High School. She moved to Indianola where she had resided for the past 11 years.
Maxine retired in 2006 from Wells Fargo Services where she had worked for 25 years in numerous management roles; she was the Item Processing Site Manager at the time of her retirement. She enjoyed spending her retirement years traveling to Blue Grass festivals, crocheting "prayer shawls" and spending time with her grandchildren. Maxine was an active member of Farmer's Chapel United Methodist Church as well as the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve W. Mealey of Indianola; daughters, Michelle (Brent) Hammond and Amanda (Darren) Lee; four grandchildren, Alecia and Kyla Hammond, Logan and Olivia Lee all of Des Moines. She is also survived by many other extended loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Flossie as well as her siblings, Richard, Mary, Shirley and William along with many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 3 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to MDA/ALS Division or Farmer's Chapel United Methodist Church.
