Memorial visitation for Maxine M. Higens, 90, who passed away, Monday, April 3, 2017 in Indianola, will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 7 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Maxine worked for many years with Fanny Farmer candies until moving to Omaha, Nebraska with her husband Gerald.  While in Omaha she worked for Tip Top and the Aksarben Race Track.  From Omaha, Maxine and Gerald moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where they enjoyed 33 years.  After her husband's passing, Maxine moved to Indianola to be near her family in 2011.  She enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows with her daughter every Monday.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Linda (James) Pearson; granddaughter, Gina (Steve) Beahr, great granddaughter, Cassie Beahr.  She was preceded in death by her Husband, Gerald Higens; son, Larry Edgington; two brothers and one sister.

Maxine's family would like to extend their thanks to St. Croix Hospice and Good Samaritan staff for taking care of Maxine.
