Max was born in Des Moines and graduated from Indianola High School. He worked as a real estate agent for the past 11 years. He was a member of the Indianola Noon Lions Club and enjoyed Hot Air Ballooning, the County and State Fairs and watching Cyclone Football. His love was his family and following his grandchildren.

Max is survived by his wife, Dixie; daughter, Penney (Curt) Arey and their children, Tyler and Kacee Arey of Lucas; and daughter, Jodi Parsons of Indianola; brother, David Parsons of Longmont, CO; sister, Pam Menzner of Marion, IA.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Parsons and 2 mothers, Helen Beattie Parsons and Ruth Greenwalt Parsons.

Visitation will be held 1:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 6 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. The family would prefer gifts of remembrances given to the Indianola Mat Tribe, SEW Softball or the University of Iowa Woman's Track Program.
