Memorial services for Mary Lou Staubus, 89, who passed away in Indianola, Iowa, on March 1, 2018, will be held at 3 p.m. on March 17 at The Heritage Room at The Village in Indianola.

Mary Lou graduated from Montezuma High School.  She attended Iowa State College for two years. While at ISU, she met Henry Staubus and they married in 1947. Mary Lou taught third grade for one year in Mingo, Iowa, before moving to Ruthven, Iowa. She and Henry then lived in Humboldt, Iowa from 1949 to 1969. They then moved to Indianola in 1969 and remained there until present day.

Mary Lou was born to Clifford Leonard and Annette Belle McCormick Braley in Ewart, Iowa.

Mary lou was the consummate homemaker, life partner, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, community volunteer, church member and friend.

She was mother to Diane Staubus (partner Ralph Jones) of Woodstock, GA, and to Thomas Staubus (Sheila) of Duluth,MN. Her grandchildren include Annette Cámara Denherder (Troy), Jonathan Cámara (Kim), Kayli Staubus and Maria (Jon) Krouth. She love those grandkids and their offspring, Alexa Denherder, Dax Denherder and Braley Cámara.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Henry, her parents, and by brothers Frank, Berton, Gordon and Byard Braley. She is survived by sisters – in – law Alice Fredrickson, Donna Staubus, Madolyn Braley, Marcia Braley and many beloved nieces and nephews.
