Mary Lou Sherwood, 85, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center. No services are planned at this time. She was born August 6, 1928 to Fred and Esther (Glissendorf) Schone in White Lake, S.D. where she graduated from high school. She continued her education at Dakota Weslyn College in Mitchell, S.D. and on May 28, 1950 was united in marriage to Loran Fred Sherwood. They lived in Flint, MI, Waterloo, IA and Cedar Falls, IA before moving to Des Moines in 1961. She was retired from CDS in Des Moines. Mary Lou moved to Indianola in 1994 and she enjoyed music and her card club. Survivors include her children, Bob Athey of Tucson, AZ, Stanley (Terry) Sherwood of Indianola and Richard Sherwood of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck (Gwen) Schone of Portland, ME and twin sister, Rose Marie Raymond of Grand Forks, N.D.
