MARY JEAN (JAMES) HALL

Services for Mary Jean (James) Hall, 83, of Des Moines, IA, who passed away Monday, September 16, 2019, at home, will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery, Liberty Center, IA.

Mary Jean was born May 5, 1936 to Maurice and Maude Taylor.  She enjoyed her busy life raising her eight children, sewing, crafts, gardening and home décor.  She was a pastor's wife at multiple churches along with running numerous bakeries with her husband.

She is survived by her children, Jolene (Dean) Bosley, Jacki (Curtis) Chittenden, Christine (Steve) Foreman, Donald James, Daniel James, Cindy (Kevin) Else, and Sonya Oppman; 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Reverend Kenneth James and Byron Hall; son, David James; and her parents, Maurice and Maude Taylor.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to Unity Point Hospice in her name.
