Services for Mary M. Hommer, 86, who died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, at the First Baptist Church in Indianola of which she was a member. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the New Virginia Cemetery.

Born near St. Marys, Iowa, Mary had lived in Indianola since 1954, residing at Good Samaritan for the last 6 months. She was a clerical worker for the State of Iowa in the Department of Motor Vehicles Driver's License Division and later worked in insurance.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ronald of Indianola; son, Stephen (Suzette) Hommer of Dallas, TX; daughters, Marilyn (Glenn) Johnson of Libertyville, IL and Sharon Harding of Omaha, NE; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marvel Loomis of New Virginia and Geneva Hoover of Indianola; and sister-in-law, Ruth Henson of St. Marys.

Visitation will be held 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to her church.
